Appointments and Cancellations

Your session time is specifically reserved for you. Please remember to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. You will be charged $100.00 for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your appointment. No-show appointments will be charged at the full session rate. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of your session time.

The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 45 or 55 minutes. However, the length of sessions may be determined by your insurance carrier or your individual needs.

Clients covered by Nebraska Medicaid will not be charged for missed or late-canceled sessions. However, consistent attendance is an important part of therapeutic progress.

A $50.00 service charge will be applied for any returned checks.

🌟 Weather & School Closure Policy. If local schools are closed due to weather or unsafe travel conditions, all sessions will automatically be held via telehealth rather than canceled. This ensures continuity of care and maintains client progress. Clients are responsible for ensuring they can attend virtually on these days unless otherwise discussed.

Self-Pay and Good Faith Estimates

If you choose not to use insurance, we offer self-pay options for all services. Each therapist sets their own private pay rates, generally ranging from $100–$250 per session, depending on the session length (45–60 minutes) and whether it is an intake or a standard therapy session.

Self-pay clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining the expected cost of services before therapy begins.

For detailed information about your rights and the No Surprises Act, please refer to the No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate section on this page.

Please note that self-pay payments do not apply toward your insurance deductible.

Payment and Financial Responsibility

We ask that all clients keep a credit, debit, HSA, or FSA card on file. Copays, deductibles, and private-pay fees are processed by our billing agency during the week of service or after insurance has been submitted. Please provide a card that can remain on file for these charges.

Balances must be paid within 30 days. Accounts that are more than 120 days past due may incur a $10 monthly finance charge and may be referred to collections. Returned checks are subject to applicable bank fees.

We also accept cash and checks. If you are paying by cash or check, please leave payment with your therapist on the day of service.

Using Insurance

Every journey begins with connection. When scheduling your first appointment, please have your insurance card and information ready.

Clients are responsible for confirming whether their selected therapist is in-network with their insurance plan prior to scheduling a session.

We use a billing partner that securely manages claim submission and account coordination after services begin. While KP Perspectives can provide general billing guidance, it is the client’s responsibility to verify insurance coverage, understand copays and deductibles, and confirm any pre-authorization requirements.

We recommend contacting your insurance company directly and asking the following:

  • Is my chosen therapist in-network with my plan?
  • Do I have outpatient mental health or behavioral health benefits?
  • What is my deductible, and how much of it has been met?
  • What is my copay or coinsurance amount?
  • Is pre-authorization required before starting therapy?

Since we don’t have a front desk or receptionist, you can reach out directly to any of our therapists through the email links on our Therapist page or by calling the main number listed on our Contact page.

When you reach out, your therapist will gather a few basic details — such as your preferred contact method, insurance or self-pay information, general schedule availability, and what brings you to therapy. From there, they’ll work with you to find a time that fits and begin building a therapeutic relationship that supports your goals.
